Otter Lake Sunday May 17th, 2009 Otter lake is a small lake in the eastern part of Cayuga County just south of Meridian N.Y. We used the Otter Lake Campground launch. The surface area of the lake is around 200 acres, with a maximum depth of 10'.
Boats at the ramp ready to start launching. We were allowed to fish this lake with two conditions. First, we could only idle our big engines when moving (5 mph lake speed limit) and second, no fishing in front of the camps and docks on the eastern part of the lake.
Boats on the water ready to start fishing This tournament is a "paper" tournament. where we catch, measure and release our fish. We started at 7:00 a.m. and fish for 6 hours, returning to the dock at 1:00 p.m.
Connell Raate and Shawn Potlaski. We measured our fish on the water and the winner is determined by total inches for the 5 biggest bass.
Frank Wilson Jr and Frank Doll. A cold front had come through on Saturday afternoon so we all knew that the fishing was going to be slow.
Dick Hyde and Steve Tagami are moving somewhere. It was a very cold day with lots of wind up to 30 mph, but we all enjoyed ourselves doing what we like to do------fish.
Dave Donhauser and Ken Sheldon On the southern, western and northern sides of the lake, there are lots of weeds to work if that is your cup of tea.
Shawn Smith shows off a nice bass. At 1:00 p.m. the boats are pulled and the paper lengths are put on the computer
Connell Raate works his magic with the computer
