Good Ole Boys Bass Club of Central New York

So you're thinking about joining our club. First, you're welcomed. But you are thinking about what do you need to join a bass club. Well, actually, very little. As a boater 1st - all you need is a boat that can comfortably fish two persons, with a front and rear fishing chair, and all Coast Guard required safety equipment. Don't worry about having a bass boat. One half of our boaters own and fish aluminum boats, (lovingly called "the tin men") Lund's, Starcraft's, Tracker's, etc. 2nd - A live well large enough to hold and keep 10 bass alive while fishing. 3rd - A bow mounted electric trolling motor. 4th - A fishing rod, and some tackle. 5th - The boat must be equipped with all required Coast Guard equipment. As a non-boater, or co-angler 1st - A fishing rod, and some tackle. 2nd - A life vest for yourself and some rain gear. Tackle Really, very little. We have one co-angler that will readily admit that when he went to his first tournament, he ran to K-mart the night before and purchased two lures. And that was the total of his lures for that day. All of our boaters or co-anglers will loan you lures if you need them. That sharing of knowledge and equipment is important to our club. We also have some very generous sponsors that supply us with assorted tackle. This tackle is given away at meetings and picnics for you to keep and use. It will cost you $50.00 to join our club, and we work hard, every year, to make sure that all members received at least that dollar amount of tackle by the end of the year. Of course there are tournament entry fees etc. For more information see the "by-laws" page on this website. Other A willingness to learn, share, and have fun.
