January 2009

Meeting and Awards Dinner

Our annual awards / family dinner was held on Sunday, January 25h at RFH's Hide-a-Way, just north of Phoenix.  This is the first year that we have had a "cratered affair" because the lure draw money was sufficient enough, This is when we hold our January meeting too.

Table with all the "goodies" to be given away. Our sponsors are always very generous with their donations.

Members and their wives "visit" before the food is ready.

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. we filled our plates with all the food prepared by RFH's. The banquet consisted of

For starters

Fresh Vegetable Tray, Hors d'ouevres, cookies and all the soda and coffee you wanted

Main meal

Tossed Salad, Beef Stroganoff, Baked Chicken, Baked Ziti, Mashed Potatoes w/gravy, Redskin Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Hot Vegetable, and assorted Bread and Rolls.

Too bad our fish boxes can't always be as full as everyone was after that feast!  Yum.

It was then time to hand out the "Angler of The Year" and "Big Bass of The Year" prizes to the deserving winners.

Evan Smith was "Angler of The Year"  on the non-boater side, and along with a check, he received a soft-sided tackle bag from Bass Pro.

Jack Wilson won the "Big Bass of The Year" on the non-boater side. He also received a cash prize plus a soft-sided bag from Bass Pro.

Chris is MIA.  I wonder where he is?

On the boater side, Chris Cartwright (who was unable to attend) won the AOL and will be sent his check and soft-side bag from Bass Pro.

Tom Hudson won the Big Bass of the year on the boater side.  He also received a check along with a soft sided tackle bag from Bass Pro.

Guy Cromp was awarded the "Most improved Angler" award.

Dick Hyde was awarded the "Golden Heart" award.

We then drew numbers out of the "pumpkin" one at a time and everyone came up to choose a door prize.

Good luck to everyone this year.
