February 2009 Meeting Feb. 23, 2009
Call to order – By Tom Hudson President at 6:10 PM @ RFH's Restaurant 21 Members in attendance
Some of the members at meeting Correspondence – Club received e-mail from Bob Ryan at Bass Pro, thanking us for our involvement in the Ice Fishing Derby sponsored by Bass Pro on Feb. 21, 2009 at Owasco Lake.
Some more Promotions Committee Report – Dick Hyde spoke about recent developments from Venom Mfg Co, and recent products sent from “The Professor” Wilson and the need to promote and use sponsor products. Also some concerns have been raised by a couple of our sponsors concerning the dress wear of our members that are on the website. Sponsors have wanted to use some of the pictures, however they have been unable to do so due to members having old and stained shirts, also shirts not tucked in. Talk on how to correct this problem along with ways to get better pictures was discussed.
A handmade quilt that will be raffled off at Bass Pro Old Business – Dave Donhauser’s nomination for treasurer (nominated at January Banquet) was unanimously. Connell Raate, webmaster will take care of the treasure spreadsheet.
Boxes and tackle that was raffled off this night to the members Discussion was started on what to do with boaters in our club who do not meet NYS BASS boat specifications (currently our club does not have a limit on size of boat or motor) should they qualify for the CTC. The current member Joe Valerio stated that he would rather be a boater and would let the next member in line take his place. A motion was made by Tom Church to table this matter until it comes up again, and agreed upon by all of those present.
New Business – Two new members were introduced, T.J. Church and Jack Wilson III
Bill Alexander Guest Speaker – Bill Alexander was introduced as our guest speaker. Bill makes custom jigs and gave a presentation on how to fish them. Bill now has a web site. His lures can be ordered on line at www.billysmtolures.com
