February Meeting 2/10/2008
Meeting called to order at 6:15 by President Tom Hudson @ RFH’s Hide a Way Rest.
New Business: Introduction of three (3) new members – Tom Church, Shawn Potlaski, John Musenga. This brings our current active club membership to 27 members (15 boaters/12 non boaters). Treasurer's report –Jack Loughery could not be present, did send out a report, see membership page on our website for latest information. Old Business: President Tom Hudson spoke about up coming events at Bass Pro and the need for volunteers to be present and arrive on time. Tom asked for a volunteer to handle the schedule. P. Hudson volunteered to notify everyone of their sign up times.
Tom also brought up the subject of having two awards at the end of the year for Big Bass and Angler of the Year. One would go to the non-boater category and to the boater category. The tournaments themselves would stay the same as they are now. A short discussion followed and Tom made a motion to the above. Guy Cromp seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Speaker: Dick Hyde made a presentation on new products. He spoke on Venom’s new swim baits, drop shot baits. He further showed off Tru Tungsten’s new products including Picasso products and their new weighted worms. Questions were asked and answered along with some of the products that he was demonstrating being given as prizes for the correct answer.
Dick also spoke about the promotions committee’s work, the need to use our sponsor’s product. If anyone has a potential sponsor they should contact the members of the promotions committee for help in securing a sponsor.
Good & Welfare: Dick Hyde brought up the fact that we should have a fund of some kind (like a sunshine fund) for when someone is sick or when a club member has a family member who has died. No action was taken on this suggestion at this time.
