February 26th 2006 Meeting The meeting was held at the Pizza Hut in Fulton, NY. The meeting was called to order by President Tom Hudson at 7:00 p.m. Treasurer Chris French gave his report. (Full report on "members only" page.) Next on the order of business was election of officers. Seeing as all officers were running unopposed, Secretary Connell Raate had sent in one represent vote for all officers. The officers for the 2006 season are: President Tom Hudson Secretary Connell Raate Treasurer Chris French Tournament Committee Jack Loughery, Ryan Smith, Garrett Kinney The change in By-Laws to have the non-boaters pay $10.00 extra in their tournament entry fees, and have that extra money go to their boater, was passed. The change in the By-Laws to extend our fishing hours to 7 from the present 6 also passed. Our fishing hours will now be first safe light until 1:00 p.m. Jeff Edgarton reported on the GOB Junior Bassmasters. He has had one meeting with the middle school students and has 9 members signed up. He has a meeting with the high school students soon, and should have many more kids interested at that meeting. Jeff needs the boaters in our club to volunteer their time and boat for two of the kids tournaments. One on July 2nd. In this tournament we will operate the boat with two of the juniors from clubs other than our own Juniors. As boaters, we will not be able to fish......just operate the boats for the event. The NYS Federation will kick in some money for our gas. Time - 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Sept. 3rd tournament is the Federation State Team Tournament for the Junior Bass Masters. This will be held on Oneida Lake. The Junior pays the entry fee of around $70.00 and the boater gets to fish for free with the junior as his team member. 1st place for boater will pay around $1500.00, and the juniors get their own prize monies. The NYS Federation will also kick in for gas money for the boaters. Connell has the entry forms for both tournaments. Contact him if you are interested. Time - 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. The tournament committee reported that the GOB August 13th tournament on Oswego River South has been moved to August 6th. This will give the 6 man team for the NYS Team Federation a chance to fish on August 13th in NYS Federation Tournament at Ogdensburg. There is also another change. The committee has switched around the Port Bay and Redfield tournaments. There are two other clubs on Redfield July 23rd so they have moved Redfield up to July 9th and dropped Port Bay back to July 23rd. ( I have made the changes in the tournament schedule on this web site.) Finally, the committee has dropped the September 3rd tournament on Sodus Bay, to make room for the NYS Federation Junior tournament on Oneida Lake on September 3rd. A motion was made, seconded, and passed that last years 6 man team tournament monies that were not used will be divided up and used for this years and next years 6 man team events. Bass Pro in Auburn, NY is holding a fishing show on March 31, April 1, and April 2. Our Club has again been invited to attend this event. As a fund raiser for our 6 man team, we will be raffling off a tackle box with lures as we did last year. If you can help out on one or more of these days, contact Connell. |
